At Waimea Women's Center, we believe that all pregnant women deserve the excellent care provided by a team of nurse-midwives and obstetricians. This team approach allows us to create a personalized plan of prenatal and birth care for each woman and her family.

Although nurse-midwives are relatively new to the Big Island, they have been caring for American women for nearly one hundred years, and deliver over 300,000 babies in the U.S. each year. Numerous national studies demonstrate that midwifery care is safe and satisfying. We at the Women's Center are proud to say that our rate of Cesarean birth is less than half the national average, without any compromise to the health of our mothers or newborns.
